Abortion was legalized in Albania on December 7, 1995. The procedure has been available since a regulation in 1992. Abortion is legal up to 12 weeks of pregnancy for any reason, and at any time on grounds of disability or danger for the mother's life.
Pro-abortion arguments have been introduced in schools by activists with the intention to change the minds of younger generations.
