Abortion Laws today
Tanzania’s penal code allows abortion in Tanzania under the exception if it is performed to save a woman’s life and in circumstances of rape. Tanzania’s penal code criminalizes unlawful abortion. The life exception has been interpreted to include an exception for the preservation of the woman’s mental and physical health. Tanzania’s constitution has no mention of abortion.
How and where vigils began
The leader was interested in conducting campaigns after visiting the website and finding out about the campaign online in 2021. A mission trip with Human Life International in 2016 connected us with many pro-life activists, Churches and Government officials.
