Carlo Acutis. My life project is always to be united with Jesus!
Carlos Leret
Delegate of the Association of Friends of Carlo Acutis
Every soul created by God has a mission. We are not the ones to decide if that soul has to live or what its mission is.
Man is not capable of seeing God's plan if he does not see life as a blessing and how life transcends in the Church, the family and humanity.
Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, created in the image and likeness of God, and therefore we must respect their dignity from conception to death. Let's not forget that life is a free gift from God.
Carlo Acutis said: "Our earthly life is the step to eternal life and it is our great opportunity to earn Heaven". He also summed it up like this: “Everyone is born original but many die as photocopies”. That is to say, we are all called to holiness and we must bear witness to it in our daily acts, so that with this we can draw others to union with Jesus, to do good. Which means, for example, respecting natural law, our body, our life and that of others.
Mother Teresa of Calcutta said: “Do not look for Jesus in distant lands. He is not there. He is close to you! He is with you! If you have eyes to see, you will find yourself in Calcutta anywhere in the world.
You must love and see Jesus in the disfigured face of the poorest, those who have no voice, the most defenseless, like those who are in the womb of their mothers and are in danger of being aborted. In every abortion it is Jesus whom we crucify to death.
Carlo Acutis often repeated: “Not me but God. Sadness is the look towards oneself. Joy is looking towards God. How sad it is to see that a mother, out of selfishness, sacrifices her own son in her womb. And what a joy it is to see God's will fulfilled in her mother’s yes-to-life.
Carlo Acutis testified that the destiny of every soul is Heaven and that was his goal.
Christian hope is centered on eternal life. It is the faith of things that are hoped for and cannot be seen. To achieve this we have to give our yes to God and thus we can constantly renounce the mundane and love God more each day above all things and our neighbor as ourselves.
God is the giver of life. We are fruits of his love. He created us so that in his love we bear good and abundant fruit. Jesus, by choosing to be martyred on the cross, gave us eternal life, thereby making an everlasting covenant with us through his real presence in the Eucharist. As long as we receive it in a state of grace, since spiritual or earthly life entails a responsibility with God.
Carlo told us: “Life is a springboard towards eternity. We are all destined for eternity. Thus, death becomes the door to eternal life."
"Jesus is everything to me and my desire is to imitate him and go to Heaven and in my earthly life I must be able to bring the light of Jesus into the darkness."
It depends on us if we die as originals or as photocopies.
Our heart and our body is a temple of God's love and we must respect the sacredness of our soul and our body.
For Carlo Acutis every man was sacred. He always let Jesus into his relationships. He always tried to give himself up. Thus he radiated the love of Jesus for his creation. And his love for imitating Jesus always led him to defend the dignity of life from conception.
Carlo Acutis was born in London, England, on May 3, 1991. He died in Monza, Italy, on October 12, 2006 and was beatified in the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi on October 10, 2020.
