18-MAR
.-Somewhere after 11:00 in the morning, the day captain called the vigil coordinator, excitement and uncertainty colouring her voice. We were on the verge of the first save of the campaign. A young woman had shown up at the facility with her boyfriend to have an abortion.
She was just a few weeks pregnant, and he insisted that it should be terminated. When he left her at the facility to go to a nearby store, she ran across the road to the day captain, and pleaded with her for help, expressing that she didn't want to abort, and that she also need some psycho-emotional help, due to the toxicity of the relationship.
Several texts and secret phone calls went back and forth between her and the vigil coordinator and sometimes the day captain, untill about 4 hours later, the last call related the decision, faught so tenaciously to win. "I am keeping my baby." The day captain confirming the legitimacy of the decision, by providing commentary of our precious mother walking out of the facility and away from the boyfriend.
